Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde hair and an ebullient appearance, shares tips on how to prepare restaurant-style meals in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best restaurants located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went to earn an English degree and a Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I couldn't seem to get enough out of it. Following graduation from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell took a full year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for the condition of children with diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as speaker and mentor. Anne has said throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to be able to share what's most important to her.
